Paddy Pimblett prevailed against Jared Gordon in the co-main event of UFC 282 in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. This was one of the most anticipated fight of the event and it served its purpose just right. However, the decision to declare Pimblett the winner has drawn criticism for being an unjust choice. Ariel Helwani, an MMA writer who recently had a falling-out with “The Baddy,” was one of the many people who disagreed with the decision. Helwani is perplexed as to how such a blunder by the judges could be possible. The MMA writer blasted the judge, Doug Crosby, over his evaluation of Jared Gordon on Twitter.

Paddy Pimblett and Ariel Helwani recently fell out over Pimblett’s criticism of Helwani’s journalistic credentials and allegations that Helwani was making money off of the fighters. And once Pimblett won, Helwani attacked the verdict with all of his might.

Ariel Helwani disregards Paddy Pimblett’ victory

Following the announcement of Paddy Pimblett‘s victory, Ariel Helwani immediately rushed to Twitter to voice his disapproval. In tweets, he criticized the UFC judges for making an unjust judgment against Jared Gordon and solicited feedback from the audience.

Helwani wrote, “What did y’all think of that decision? Thought it was 29-28 at worst for Jared Gordon. Thought he won the first and third. Could make a case for second, too. Pretty incredible not a single judge had it for him? How’s that possible?”

In the follow-up tweet, he took a jab on the MMA judge, Doug Crosby, “Also, incredible that Doug Crosby, 24 hours after one of the worst scorecards ever, scores the first two against Jared Gordon. Tremendous stuff.”

However, Ariel Helwani is not the only person to disagree with the choice. Many UFC fans have also questioned the organization’s structure in the wake of Paddy Pimblett‘s victory.

What happened in Pimblett vs. Gordon

Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon went into the fight looking equally strong. The fight lasted for three good rounds. However, according to many spectators, it was Gordon who dominated the bout and not Pimblett.

Nevertheless, the judges made the decision in the contrast to what seemed evident to the fans. And the most anticipated fight of the UFC turned out to have the most controversial results.
