Like it or not, Sean Strickland has found a way to stay relevant in the MMA world, thanks to his unapologetic attitude toward everyone, no matter who they are. The moment ‘Tarzan’ opens his mouth, you know something is about to go down—it’s either controversial or so nonchalant that you find yourself scratching your head, wondering what he just said. In his most recent escapade, the former middleweight champion had a pretty intense back-and-forth with Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping.

While having a one-on-one interview session with one another, Sean Strickland and Michael Bisping engaged in a rather playful banter. However, it could have turned tense as ‘Tarzan’ never knows when to hold back. “Michael Bisping gonna say, “Well, Sean, what can you do better? How did you improve?” He’s gonna say this,” said Strickland as he mimicked ‘The Count’s habit to lead to a conversation.

Bisping was rather surprised by Strickland’s opinion as he laughed and said, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I’m not. I’m gonna bore you to death with the same old questions, Sean. Come on, we know each other, we go back a long way.” ‘Tarzan’ laughed at Bisping as he stated that he generally threatened the reporters. However, it would be a bit difficult this time considering ‘The Count’ is not only a former UFC fighter but also a former middleweight champion.

Upon hearing his words, Bisping asserted, “Hey, Sean, we used to spar.” Well, Strickland agreed to it but he took it a bit far, “Relax, dude. You got fu–ing—your nu-s, they are probably full of gray, dude. How much TRT are you on, dude? Relax.” What was Bisping’s response to it? Well, it was classic Bisping – “Enough to put you in your place. Don’t worry about it.”

Their interaction might have seemed assertive and competitive, but they actually had a good relationship. Strickland even claimed that Bisping was one of his MMA heroes. He joked, “I was a big fan of this guy. They say never meet your heroes.” ‘Tarzan’ s known for his crazy trash talks and Bisping knows it pretty well. Matter of fact, Bisping has even given a thorough analysis of his trash-talking in compression to his fighting skills.

Michael Bisping briefly explains Sean Strickland’s trash-talking skills

What’s your perspective on:

Does Sean Strickland's trash talk overshadow his actual fighting skills, or is it all part of the game?

Have an interesting take?

You say nonchalant, and we hear Sean Strickland – the former middleweight champion of the world, not caring about what any of his opponents have to say about him. His trash-talking may be top-notch, but according to Michael Bisping, his fighting doesn’t live up to his words. Speaking to Paul Felder on the ‘ Believe You Me Podcast’, Bisping asserted that Strickland’s fighting skills don’t match up with his trash-talking.

“He does always talk about, you know, ‘Fight de—to-d–, nipple-to-nipple, to the death!’ And then he does have his style, the way that he fights, which kind of, with respect, I’m not trying to talk s—, kind of conflicts a little bit, you know, it does. But, he’s an entertaining bit– leading up to the fight, at the press conferences, he’s one of the most entertaining people now,” said Michael Bisping.

Paul Felder agreed with Bisping’s analogy and emphasized that Sean Strickland uses this to his advantage. Well, the former champ will be clashing against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312 to reclaim his title. With that in mind, who do you think will be clinching the belt this time? Will it be another victory for the champion or will it be Sean Strickland’s comeback? State your thoughts in the comments below.
