The UFC is going all out to celebrate its three-hundredth pay-per-view event. UFC 300 not only features a stacked card from top to bottom, with eleven current and former champions fighting on it, but it will see some of the fighters possibly walk home making significantly more than their fight purse.
The reason for this is Dana White‘s promise of handing out $300k bonuses to top performers on the marquee card. While this would undoubtedly be an added incentive for many of the fighters on it, that is likely not to be the case for Jiri Prochazka and Aleksandar Rakic. This is because both men are coming into the bout with something to prove and with a chip on their shoulder. Ahead of their light heavyweight clash, let us take a look at how much money they will make for their clash.

Jiri Prochazka lost his last fight, a light heavyweight title bout to Alex Pereira at UFC 295 last year. The Czech had defeated ‘Poatan’s coach and dear friend Glover Teixeira two years ago to become the new 205-pound champion. But after sustaining a serious injury, he chose to vacate the title in order to not hold up the division.
If that wasn’t motivation enough, Prochazka will reportedly make $212,000 (excluding any bonuses he may win on the night) for his bout against the ethnic Serb. Rakic, on the other hand, will make significantly less- $60,000 for fighting ‘BJP’, excluding any bonuses he may earn.

Aleksandar Rakic is also coming off a loss- to former champion Jan Blachowicz at their much-awaited clash two years ago. While he suffered his first knockout loss to the Pole, it was down to a freak injury, which saw ‘Rocket’ blow out his knee during the bout. Along with the bragging rights and getting into the title mix, their bout has even higher stakes as Prochazka got called out by Rakic over something near and dear to the Czech’s heart.
Prochazka takes offense to Rakic comments about him being a samurai
Because of these recent losses, both men are coming into the bout determined to make an emphatic statement and remind the UFC world just how good they are. Not to mention Rakic, depending upon how he performs, may get a shot at the title next, if he manages to get through the former champion impressively.

Add to this their recent back-and-forth, and this bout is promising to be an electrifying affair. Their war of words started after Aleksandar Rakic said that he didn’t think Jiri Prochazka was a real samurai. The Czech, who sees himself as a modern-day samurai and tries to live and fight according to the Bushido code of the samurai, was quite offended.
“Aleksandar, he’s talking too much. He doesn’t know me and he will know me in the cage. Who I am. Where I am able to go. How [far] I can go to take a win. He doesn’t know me personally. If you don’t know somebody personally, how can you speak about him? Whatever,” the former champion said. What are your predictions for UFC 300?
