Even after being knocked out, Sterling managed to earn the highest salary of his UFC career. As per sources, ‘Funk Master’ earned $1,490,000 from the fight. Moreover, he was also the highest earner of the night, taking home more than the new champ, O’Malley. ‘Sugar’ went home with $1,380,000.

Now, Aljamain Sterling gears up to fight Calvin Kattar in the featherweight division at UFC 300. While there is no official confirmation about how much he will earn in his next fight, fans can expect a similarly handsome paycheque from the UFC.

Lucrative earnings started for the former UFC champ when he faced Petr Yan at UFC 259. Winning the title in an anti-climatic fashion (via DQ), Sterling took home $230,000.

Next, in his rematch against Yan, ‘Funk Master’ earned around $1,142,000. This was just the starting of fortune, as the American fighter earned $1,267,000 in his very next title defense. This time, the fight was against TJ Dillashaw and Sterling came out victorious once again.

At UFC 288, the bantamweight fighter defended his title against the UFC legend Henry Cejudo. Winning the fight via a split decision, Sterling took home $1,342,000. Looking at the above data, Sterling has earned a payout of more than $1 million, 4 times in the UFC! This looks even more intriguing when you look at payouts from the beginning of his career. For his first UFC fight, Sterling just earned around $31,000.
