Tai Tuivasa is an emerging fighter from the UFC’s heavyweight division. Akin to the other heavyweight fighters, “Bam Bam” also relies on his power to take down his opponents. As he has claimed 12/13 wins by T/KO, the 28-year-old can be seen as a knockout artist.

However, there is one thing that makes him stand out in front of the audience even more than his fighting technique: his outrageous victory celebration. The Australian commemorates his victories by drinking beer from a shoe. Yes, you heard it right, a shoe. This is known as a ‘Shoey’. It is popular back in his home country, Australia, where many people take part in this tradition, especially athletes.

Bam Bam” then revealed his trick to pulling off a successful ‘Shoey.’ He stated, “Well, the trick is I don’t use my shoe, I never used my shoe. I am not that, I’m not that silly. But yeah, it’s usually someone else’s shoe.”

Fans will look forward to a Tuivasa ‘Shoey’ once more at UFC 269 on December 11.

30-year-old Augusto Sakai made an impressive start in the UFC by registering four consecutive victories. However, the Brazilian is in a rough patch, as he has lost two of his recent fights. Meanwhile, Tuivasa is on a three-fight winning streak.

This will be a clash of styles as “Bam-Bam” relies on his power, while Sakai relies on his mobility and movements to deliver strikes inside the Octagon.

As Sakai is ranked and Tuivasa isn’t, it will be a massive opportunity for the Aussie to break into the top 15. However, the Brazilian will know that a defeat can send him crashing out of the rankings. Hence, he will be motivated.
