The former two-time UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is all set to go up in arms against Tracy Cortez at UFC on ESPN 59. So far, Namajunas has fought twice at flyweight, with one loss and one win. This fight will be a significant step for her moving forward in the division as her professional record stands at 13 wins and 6 losses.
Interestingly, in the very few number of losses, Namajunas has lost to one single fighter twice in the span of her career. In fact, it was the same fighter who took her belt away from her right before she moved to a whole different division. Could you guess who it is? Don’t worry, here, we’ll list down all of her losses so far.

Rose Namajunas is currently on a 2-fight losing streak. She last won against the current strawweight champion Weili Zhang back at UFC 268 winning via split decision to secure UFC gold for herself but her reign as champion would be short-lived. Soon, she would face Carla Esparza at UFC 274.
Esparza and Namajunas previously fought back during their ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ days and ‘Thug’ lost via submission. At UFC 274, years later, Esparza still managed to clinch her victory over the fighter and win the belt via a split decision. Namajunas then moved to flyweight and first fought Manon Fiorot and lost via a unanimous decision.
So currently, she’s fresh off a win over Amanda Ribas as she prepares for war against Tracy Cortez. Do you think she’ll stack up another win?
Other UFC losses of Rose Namajunas
Apart from losing to Esparza and Fiorot, the former two-time champ has also faced defeat against Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who added one loss to the record of ‘Thug’ when she defeated her via a split decision at UFC 201 in 2016. Her only other professional MMA loss was against Tecia Torres back during their Invicta FC days.
The two butted heads in 2013 leading to a unanimous decision loss for Namajunas. Apart from that, she had a defeat in professional grappling at Fury Pro Grappling 6 when she lost her bout against Gillian Robertson. But what about her title losses? Let’s have a look at that.

Who did Rose lose the belt to?
All the championship glory Rose Namajunas has had so far happened in the UFC. Having captured the strawweight title twice, she defended her title twice, which is also the same number of times she lost the belt. Namajunas’s first title defense failure took place when she fought Jessica Andrade at UFC 237, as mentioned above. The latter defeated the former champion with a slam knockout. However, ‘Thug Rose’ would avenge her loss in the rematch.
Moving on to her second title defense failure, this one was handed to her by her old foe, Carla Esparza, with a unanimous decision defeat. Unfortunately for Rose Namajunas, she is winless against the 36-year-old so far. Will ‘Thug Rose’ push for a trilogy to get one win over Esparza? That remains to be seen.
