Joaquin Buckley has been making moves to rise to the top of the pyramid in the welterweight division. Currently boasting a 5-fight win streak, the Missouri resident has amassed 20 wins and 6 defeats as a professional mixed martial artist. No doubt, ‘New Mansa’ has his eyes set on the welterweight championship belt. But do you know who gave the maximum support to Buckley for his fights?
Well, of course, it’s his children. Buckley is a happy family man who does whatever he does solely for his family’s welfare. Today, let’s take a look at the members of the Buckley family and get to know each of them.

Buckley is a loving father of 2 children – a son and a daughter. Back in 2022, the welterweight fighter shared a heartfelt message for his son, Isaiah, on Instagram. Along with a picture of him with an adorable little Isaiah, he let his son know that he would never fail the family. He pointed out that if there comes a day when the kid wakes up to find his father absent, it would be because he has gone to the gym to train, to be able to provide for the family. This act indeed showed a side of Joaquin Buckley that we never really knew existed.
The Buckley family, earlier in April 2024, welcomed their second child – a daughter. Without wasting a moment, ‘New Mansa’ took to social media and shared a picture of his wife, Sarah Reger, and his newborn daughter. In the caption, he wrote, “My Baby Girl Didn’t Want To Miss Out On UFC 300 😂 Daddy Is Coming Home.” However, nothing else about the young one’s name and age has been revealed by the welterweight contender.
Prior to his bout against Stephen Thompson at UFC 307, ‘New Mansa’ told the UFC how important it was to have memories with his family. He simply didn’t want his children to think that their father was a bit too focused on his dreams than them. Buckley said, “I’ve got a family now; I got two babies, so everything I do is for them. Even though I sacrificed that time to go to Michigan and do my training, I had to head back home and do more than just fight. This training camp was a little bit more personal to me.”

Meet Sarah Reger, Joaquin Buckley’s girlfriend and the mother of his kids
The duo began their romantic journey back in 2010. However, they are as of yet not married. On top of that, ‘New Mansa’ doesn’t like to make his personal life public. This is yet another reason why he is shrouded in mystery. No data is available regarding Reger’s age, education, or profession to the public. But one thing is certain. Buckley was often spotted with Reger during sports awards events.
If we do some calculations of our own as we look at the 14-year-old relationship, their love story must have kicked off when Buckley was about 16 years old. They are probably two high school sweethearts who battled through the highs and lows of life. Needless to say, it’s his girlfriend and children who support ‘New Mansa’ and urge him to go beyond his limits.

Now, Buckley is all set to face Colby Covington at UFC on ESPN 63 in Tampa. Headlining the event on 14th December has put quite a bit of pressure on the 30-year-old fighter. This fight would be Buckley’s first step towards a shot at the welterweight championship belt.
