Joe Rogan had quite a gift for his fans for Christmas. After all, the UFC commentator had fan favorite OG guest, Duncan Trussel, on for the Christmas episode (#2247) of the Joe Rogan Experience. And things started with quite a bang. During the opening seconds, Trussel made a joke about the ‘war on Christmas’, which reminded Rogan of one of Kamala Harris’ old clips from 2017, where she is railing against people celebrating Christmas.

“How dare we say Merry Christmas. Did you ever see Harris do that when she had that speech she said ‘How dare you say f***ing Christmas’. You never seen it? Let’s start with this ’cause it’s so crazy, I don’t understand the context. So like I wish I could be charitable and say well there’s probably a context where this makes sense,” Rogan said.

Eventually, Rogan found the context after his producer Young Jaime pulled up an old article. “It says Harris fumed at Americans saying Merry Christmas before illegal migrants were protected in the resurfaced clip,” Rogan told Trussell on the Christmas episode.

The former Presidential candidate was so upset after the first Trump administration ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for half a million ill**al immigrants who came to the US as children that she felt it was “morally wrong” that Americans were singing “happy tunes” and wishing each other since the ‘Dreamers’ were “not having a Merry Christmas”.

This clip, of course, went viral on the conservative internet since immigration was an important issue during the 2024 elections. The Trump campaign, in fact, had made controlling illegal immigration and deporting illegal immigrants one of the central planks of its campaign, which was part of the reason Joe Rogan supported Trump this election cycle.

Elon Musk alarmed Joe Rogan with the ‘Democrats importing ill–als’ theory before the 2024 election

Is Kamala Harris' stance on Christmas a sign of political correctness gone too far?

Joe Rogan, of course, jumped on the Trump bandwagon this time around in large part because of his friend and tech titan, Elon Musk. Musk, in fact, on Rogan’s podcast just before the election, had spoken about the Democratic Party allegedly trying to move ill–al immigrants to swing states and trying to get them to vote.

It is worth noting ill–al immigrants are not eligible to vote since only US citizens can vote in elections. There has also been no evidence of a conspiracy like this or even many cases of them voting in elections, but it is a view held by quite a few in the conservative coalition. Even Rogan had brought this theory up in a podcast episode with Democratic Senator John Fetterman, who predictably shot it down.

Although Harris ran on a pretty moderate immigration platform, much closer to Trump’s some feel that many voters didn’t believe her based on her previous beliefs as evidenced in clips like these. While many may find Harris’ empathy and concern for the half a million ‘Dreamers’ touching and noble, it’s not a good look to rail against people for celebrating and wishing each other a Merry Christmas. What do you think about Joe Rogan’s reaction to Kamala Harris’ old clip?
