‘The Highlight’ delivered! After a long road to UFC 291, Justin Gaethje finally delivered on his words and claimed the iconic BMF belt in style. Moreover, he also surprised everyone with a bold callout directed at Islam Makhachev, the Lightweight champ. While many critics were leaning towards his rival Dustin Poirier for the win, Gaethje had other plans.
Though this fight was not a divisional championship title, the fight between Gaethje and Poirier was nothing short of spectacular. Surpassing all expectations, the bout kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the two rounds that it lasted. Gaethje showcased his unparalleled skills and delivered a spectacular finish that mirrored Leon Edwards’ iconic knockout of Kamaru Usman from last year in Utah, knocking out Poirier with a powerful head kick.

With McGregor calling for a shot against the 34-year-old, things could change pretty fast in the 155 lbs landscape.
