Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo had a smashing battle at UFC 270. While Figueiredo won the bout, Moreno’s performance in the trilogy was commendable.

Their first bout was unfortunately a draw, but Moreno managed to win their second fight. And interestingly, Figueiredo won their third fight and became the new flyweight champion. Hence, they are tied at 1-1-1 and may need one last fight to decide who is ultimately the better mixed martial artist.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Moreno spoke about a potential fourth fight against ‘Daico’.

“I would love to go to Mexico City and fight against him. That would be awesome for me, for the Mexican people, and very brave for Figueiredo. A lot of credit for that. But I understand he has the ball. If he wants to go to Brazil. If he wants to go other places, I don’t care, man,” said Moreno.

“I have 1 fight. He has 1 fight. I just want to see a clear winner in all of this. And if the next one I win or I lost, I think it’s the end of the rivalry.”

“It’s the only exciting fight right now in the flyweight division. Like 4 or 5 years ago, the flyweight division was dead, and now it’s more than alive, man. That fight, I really believe makes sense.”

Later, when asked if he would like to say anything to Figueiredo, Moreno said, “My thoughts are the same. Horrible human being, amazing fighter. That’s it.” (h/t TMZ Sports)

Their latest bout was extremely eventful. Both the fighters had some very crucial moments across the five rounds at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

While ‘The Assassin Baby’ seemed to do well in two rounds, Figueiredo was just better. The Brazilian got higher scores on three rounds and hence, walked away as the champion.

Despite them clashing thrice, it does not seem enough. Also, the debate around the fight may result in the UFC booking an unprecedented fourth bout between them sometime soon. If this happens, it would be exciting to see who ends up as a winner in this exciting rivalry.
