

Since his debut in the UFC, Conor McGregor has solidified his status as the biggest star the sport of MMA has seen to date. The Irishman trash-talked and billy-strutted his way to global stardom while putting on scintillating performances in the cage. The first simultaneous champion in the UFC, McGregor, set new standards and raised the bar for fighters in MMA.
Since his debut in MMA in 2007, McGregor has competed in Cage Warriors and the UFC. In both promotions, he achieved the coveted double champion status. In addition to being the biggest star, McGregor is also the highest-paid athlete in the sport and one of the richest athletes in the world.

While he started off as a fighter, McGregor is now a multi-millionaire who owns several businesses. Nevertheless, “The Notorious” one still swears on his passion for fighting and is preparing to return to the cage later this year.

As he prepares to begin filming for TUF 31, another important occasion in his life also came by- the anniversary of his MMA debut. A clip of the same emerged on Twitter and fans had a few things to say about ‘Mystic Mac.’

A resurfaced clip of Conor McGregor’s MMA debut made rounds on Twitter recently. The 34-year-old made his debut on February 17, 2007. In his first amateur MMA bout, 18-year-old McGregor defeated Kieran Campbell in a bout held under the promotion Irish Ring of Truth. According to the tweet, the event went down in Dublin, Ireland.
Some fans made a note of the difference in physique between the current McGregor and his 2007 version.

In the short video, viewers saw a young McGregor throwing bombs at his opponent. Although this was a far cry from the crisp clean striking he showcased in the UFC, his shots were vicious nonetheless.
Young McGregor backed his opponent into a corner and stunned him. The referee had to step in as he was beginning to pepper his opponent with heavy shots. An elated McGregor celebrated his win by jumping around in the ring and screaming.
