The last card of the year, UFC 296, has most certainly caught the public’s attention. Not just for the amazing fights the UFC put up or the big names in the audience, but mostly for the brawl that took place outside of the cage.
UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland threw hands against upcoming title contender Dricus Du Plessis. The two had quite the back-and-forth at the press conference which most likely led to the altercation. And Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg also shared his thoughts on the altercation.

Mark Wahlberg was one of the many celebrities present for the UFC 296 event along with the infamous Donald Trump. The two fighters had the scuffle while the Hollywood A-lister was in the bathroom. When Wahlberg realized that he missed probably the action outside of the cage, he jokingly stated, “I would’ve stopped it if I was there”.
It was very unlikely that the Hollywood superstar would have had any luck separating the two gladiators, especially by himself. It most certainly would’ve been interesting, and more so entertaining to see how this Hollywood superstar would’ve reacted in that situation.

UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland, is probably the most brash champion that the UFC has to offer. So it wasn’t surprising to see him attack Dricus Du Plessis ahead of their scheduled fight at UFC 297. Especially after the comments made by Du Plessis at the seasonal Press conference.
In a video that was posted, the two seemed to exchange words before the altercation took place. Du Plessis was seen to have been talking trash to the UFC middleweight champion which seemed to have agitated Sean Strickland to the point where he decided to react. Strickland looked to have gotten the better of the exchange, even landing some shots at the back of Du Plessis’ head before security separated the two.
