Jon Jones’ recent heavyweight triumph seems to have transcended the MMA community and reached the eyes and ears of Hollywood. Recently, renowned action movie star and one of the martial arts community’s biggest ambassadors, Michael Jai White, claimed to witnessed the UFC action at Madison Square Garden, and was hugely impressed by Jones’ statement win against Stipe Miocic.
Being creative is one thing, but bringing that ideation to life with a 100 percent success rate is a whole other ball game. Michael Jai White seems to believe that Jon Jones does that during every fight pretty seamlessly. Moreover, he lauded the heavyweight champion’s “faith” in himself to execute his plans, claiming that there’s no better representative of not only mixed martial arts but the martial arts community as a whole, pretty much like White himself.
“That was a masterclass. That was a masterclass. I mean… not only his weapons are like, extraordinary, but really, his biggest weapon is his mind and his faith,” the ‘Blood and Bones’ star told journalist DJ Vlad. White further added, “I’m so proud of that dude because I mean, the evolution of this guy has been outstanding, and he’s such a gentleman and just an ambassador for martial arts.”

Stipe Miocic put up a pretty decent fight against Jon Jones because there were a lot of variables at play. Firstly, he was coming off a loss in his last fight, which, secondly, happened three years ago. The third factor that came into play was pundits claiming that he looked slow, given he’s in his 40s. For Michael Jai White, that doesn’t matter. Despite all his highs in the UFC and the lows outside of it, the 57-year-old actor believes Jones has done pretty much everything to prove that he is the best.

“We know he’s had troubles in the past, but now man, he’s like, the way he comports himself is just outstanding and he’s undeniably the baddest fighter on the planet,” Michael Jai White added. Jon Jones’ win was a flashy one, to say the least, as he sealed the deal with a brutal spinning backkick. But did you who had a hand in teaching him that move? It’s none other than the 57-year-old actor himself.
Michael Jai White taught Jon Jones his UFC 309 title defense finishing move
Michael Jai White and Jon Jones were bound to meet each other due to their stature in the martial arts community, which they have ultimately done on multiple occasions. They have even trained with each other more times than once, and White recently shared a video of him teaching Jones the spinning backkick, which turned out to be the very same move ‘Bones’ used to finish Stipe Miocic. The 57-year-old actor was proud to see how effectively the UFC champion used that move to neutralize his opponent, claiming that if there’s anyone who can learn things fast, it’s Jones.

“I’m proud to see him master a front kick and non-telegraph techniques I shared that he used successfully against Stipe,” Michael Jai White wrote on Instagram. ” Jon was the fastest learner I’ve ever seen, but apart from his physical gifts, his greatest weapon is his mind and his faith.” Would you agree with the ‘Spawn’ star? Besides, Jon Jones’ recent performance may have eradicated those doubts, anyway.
Well, now Jon Jones is being talked about fighting a new challenger in the form of the interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall. But there are still certain hurdles for the UFC to cross over to make this fight happen, given that the fan interest in his potential bout is increasing day by day. Do you believe Jones can continue to prove his greatness and be the ‘baddest man’ that Michael Jai White claims he is? Let us know in the comments down below.
