Chael Sonnen has recently found himself in trouble with the law. Days ago, news broke out about the former UFC and Bellator MMA fighter’s five misdemeanor battery citations. He got into an altercation with five individuals at a hotel. Hence, the cops had escorted him out.

Amidst the controversy, his friend and famous media personality, Ariel Helwani, came forward to support him. Helwani took to Twitter to celebrate some of Sonnen’s iconic moments. He shared several memorable clips of Sonnen. These included their early interviews together and some of Sonnen’s best lines. In one particular tweet, Helwani wrote, “We can learn a lot from Chael P”.

A series of tweets about Sonnen from Helwani’s account confused a few Twitter users. Although most were aware of Sonnen’s recent run-in with law enforcement, a few ended up confused. A fan wrote, “Did he die?”

Replying to this question, Ariel Helwani wrote, “Chael? No. Why do we only have to celebrate someone when they die? He’s the most loyal friend you’ll ever meet, and I felt like celebrating the entertainment he has provided us over the years. That’s all.”

The journalist has interviewed ‘The American Gangster’ several times over the years. Likewise, they share a wonderful friendship. As a result, Helwani celebrating some of Sonnen’s best moments is not surprising. In response to his tweets, many fans too shared some of Sonnen’s clips.

After his Bellator 192 bout against Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Sonnen said some really memorable lines. He said, “I got the biggest arms, I got the greatest charm and I do all the harm. 1 on 1, 2 on 1, or 5 on 1, I’ll make them all need 911.”

Indeed, 5 on 1 is what exactly took place at the hotel. Further, it is said that Sonnen was defending his wife.
