There is no denying the fact that Jon Jones is one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time. The 35 years old MMA fighter recently made a return to the UFC. In his very first fight in the heavyweight division, Jones simply dominated Ciryl Gane and won the heavyweight gold. With his recent return and successful move to the heavyweight division, many deem him the undisputed MMA GOAT.

However, Jones is also infamous for his partying habits and run-ins with the law outside of the octagon. During a previous appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast, Jones talked a bit about his partying habits. In a recent episode with comedian Dave Smith, Joe Rogan discussed about Jones’ famous partying excuse.

Jones had earlier revealed to Joe Rogan that he would always party hard before every one of his fights. The reason for Jones partying was very interesting. According to him, he would party just so that he would have an excuse in case he lost any of his fights. However, even after being a party animal leading up to the fight, Jones was never dominated by his opponent in the octagon.

Joe Rogan discussed this and praised the current UFC heavyweight champion. “Jon Jones is so goddamn talented, he could dominate while partying. (he had an excuse) in case he lost, and he still won. He still beat everybody, he beat people with minimal training, he is so f**king good”, Rogan said.

The 55-year-old podcast host even termed Jones being “kissed by god”. He even compared Jones to all-time greats like Mike Tyson. “It’s just kissed by God. There are people like that. There are Roy Jones Jrs and Mike Tysons. They have all the talent in the world and athletic ability, but they are also kissed by God.” However, when discussing the GOAT debate, Rogan mentioned Khabib Nurmagomedov to be the “GOAT of dominance”.

Rogan’s guest Dave Smith also heaped praise for ‘Bones’ in the podcast. Smith expressed his belief that Jones seems like a prolific heavyweight fighter to him, and he could have always fought in this weight category. “I guess you (Jones) could have always just been fighting heavyweights all this time”. Rogan agreed with this.
