Aljamain Sterling often has some harsh words for fighters who have faced allegations of PED use or failed a drug test. Needless to say, the former bantamweight champion simply doesn’t appreciate his fellow mixed martial artists getting involved in eccentric ways of strengthening their bodies. He has previously attacked Petr Yan, and Sean O’Malley, for their PED allegations. But now, it’s none other than Movsar Evloev in Sterling’s crosshairs.
Sterling and Evloev are set to land against each other in the preliminary card of UFC 307. However, weeks before the schedule, Aljamain made a dangerous allegation on his opponent. The ‘Funkmaster’ took to X and shared a clip from his YouTube talk show. Therein, he claimed that he was willing to undergo drug testing daily, but the same could not be said about Evloev. Thereafter, he quoted what Nate Diaz said when he was forced to pull out of UFC 244 due to elevated testosterone levels.
Sterling said, “I would love to get drug tested every single day. But I know my opponent would never do the same because I guarantee you, my man is on something. It’s okay. I’m used to fighting guys who’ve been on gear. It’s just one of those things, like, Nate Diaz said, they’re all on ste*oids, right? So, may the better man win. I know I’m gonna be the cleaner man. I know I’m gonna get it done. I’ve no doubt in my mind, even with you cheating. Mentally, it just shows that you’re weak. So, it is what it is. Movsar, I’m coming for that a** and I can’t wait.”

But as soon as the former bantamweight champion shared his views on the social media platform, the fight fans took over the comments section and bashed the ‘Funkmaster’ for his claims. Let’s see what the fighting community had to say.

Most of the fight fans didn’t agree with Sterling’s claims. The New Yorker’s allegations lacked proof and the fighting community kept on demanding it. One of the fight fans questioned, “Why do you think he’s on the juice ? Serious accusation.” Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “Accusing another man of cheating without providing any evidence ?Wouldn’t that be considered weak Aljo?”
The Russian mixed martial artist is known for his superior stamina. He is often spotted training himself to be better at the sport. With bigger muscles in view, a few of the fans speculated the reason for Sterling’s accusations. One fan quoted, “Wait Aljo , I seriously want to know, what makes u think heavily he’s on something? Is it his physique? The fact he has a good gas Tank? Or what is it? Am I not seeing the obvious or what ?” Another fan defended Evloev claiming that there was nothing suspicious about his physique. After all, it was the result of intensive training. The comment read, “U think he is on gear cuz he train hard. nothing about his build is unusual for someone who train all the time.”
A few other fans seemed to think that Sterling was confessing his own mistakes by accusing his opponent. The comment read, “More often than not, an accusation is a subtle confession.” To put more emphasis on this, one of the fans pointed out the bumps on the ‘Funkmaster’s abdominal muscles. The fan wrote, “Aljo, u ain’t natty. Everybody seem the hgh bumps on your abs. Stop the cap and focus on the fight”

Nevertheless, a few others asked Sterling not to worry about things out of his control. After all, he can’t simply ask anyone to stop using performance enhancers expecting them to stop right away, can he? A fan called out the bantamweight #8’s mindset and wrote, “Wrong mindset brudda. Don’t waste energy on things you can’t control !!”
But what are your thoughts about the accusations? Do you agree with Sterling in his take about Evloev being on a PED cycle? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
