Different UFC fighters have different ways of celebrating a win. While some perch themselves on top of the Octagon wall and celebrate with the fans, others choose a more ‘off the wall’ way of emoting. UFC Heavyweight fighter Derrick Lewis, who is a fan favorite, pulled a really ‘hilarious’ celebratory move after his win at UFC 291.

Derrick Lewis defeated Marcos Rogerio de Lima at the UFC 291 Heavyweight bout. The fight ended 20 seconds in the first round and Lewis couldn’t hold back his excitement. His celebration, although slightly bizarre, was funny enough to leave a professional comedian like Joe Rogan in splits. And now, a UFC legend has made a bold claim about the post-fight interview between Lewis and Rogan.

UFC legend Chael Sonnen has a YouTube channel where the former fighter is seen discussing the latest updates from the world of combat. In one of his latest episodes, Sonnen talked about one particular UFC 291 moment that he deemed one of the greatest moments in the history of sports.

Sonnen started talking about Ian Garry claiming that he would be the ‘star’ of UFC 292 and that he would be ‘carrying’ the fight card. Exemplifying some UFC ‘superstars’ and some great moments in the UFC, Sonnen started talking about Lewis defeating de Lima in the first round at UFC 291 and then proceeding to take his pants off to celebrate. Rogan, who was the commentator for the fight, was left in splits.

Derrick Lewis does a fight, drops his…. His pants and it’s so funny that Joe Rogan – a trained comedian lost his place. Joe’s trying to interview him… it’s… he’s losing the words. I don’t think that there’s a commentator and athlete, by the way, in all of sport – not just this one. I don think anywhere in sport, that could have a moment like Derrick Lewis and Joe Rogan did. I’d love to hear it.“, said Sonnen, claiming that it was one of the most entertaining and iconic moments in sports history.

UFC 291 was a great success and now the promotion is looking to keep the streak going with UFC 292. The main fight card is the Bantamweight title bout between reigning division champ Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley. The fight between the two has been brewing for a while but somehow, it wouldn’t come to fruition. Sterling had refused to fight O’Malley on multiple occasions saying that he didn’t deserve it but the UFC President Dana White had been persistent about his next opponent being O’Malley. O’Malley recently exposed a major flaw in Sterling’s game and is looking to walk away with the Bantamweight title. In the middle of all this, a really memorable post-fight interview between Sean O’Malley and Joe Rogan has re-surfaced, right ahead of his UFC 292 bout. Is this a sign of things to come?

Ian Garry is slated to face Neil Magny in a Welterweight contest. It seems that Garry is convinced that he is the main draw for UFC 292 and that the fight card would be a total failure without his name on the cards. Sonnen, although didn’t disregard this claim by Garry, proceeded to talk about Sean O’Malley being one of the top-five most popular fighters in the promotion.
