Joe Rogan has always been a big supporter of Jon Jones. He always considers him to be the greatest of all time. Meanwhile, in a recent episode of his podcast, the 55-year-old mentioned how at one point in ‘Bones’s career, the heavyweight champion started toying with his opponents.

There is no doubt that Jon Jones is arguably the best fighter that MMA has ever seen. Moreover, his resume speaks for itself. He has conquered two divisions, and also become the heavyweight champion in his first-ever fight in that weight class. However, Joe Rogan stated that Jon Jones played with his opponents during fights.

During the #2012 episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, Joe Rogan mentioned how good Jon Jones is as a fighter. He also talked about the time when ‘Bones’ tried new things because fighting was too easy for him. Moreover, there were some instances when he allowed fights to go on for a longer period when he could have clearly finished it early. Joe Rogan said, “At certain points [and] times in his career, he was like playing with his food.” He added, “He let fights go on too long where he’s like almost disinterested.”

The UFC color commentator also spoke about Jones trying a unique way of fighting some of his opponents. The reigning heavyweight champion would try to fight some of the most lethal strikers in the game by standing up.

Rogan added, “He wanted to try standing up with guys who were supposedly great strikers. [Jones] just decided not to take people down.” This wasn’t it. There were also instances when Jon Jones acted as if fighting was not fun anymore.

The 55-year-old podcast host stated that Jon Jones was so much better than his opponents that he’d do whatever he wanted during fights. It was as if he controlled the outcome of those fights. “He just tried to do whatever the f*** he wanted to do because he’s so much better than everybody. He was getting bored,” said the JRE host.

Furthermore, Joe Rogan spoke about how many good fighters Jones has beaten over the years. He believes that there is no one better than him when it comes to MMA. He further added, “He’s so f***ing good. I mean, he’s beaten so many people.”

When ‘Bones’ returned to action at UFC 285, it was after a three-year hiatus. Nobody knew how he’d perform. However, he proved his doubters wrong and finished off Ciryl Gane in just two minutes of the opening round. He reminded everybody why Dana White considers him to be the greatest of all time.
