UFC’s rising fighter, Khamzat Chimaev, is confident about being the next big star. After an undefeated streak and the Gilbert Burns fight at UFC 273, Chimaev is ready to face Nate Diaz at UFC 279. In a recent interview, ‘Borz’ spoke about his upcoming fight with Diaz and about Jorge Masvidal, who reportedly wants to fight him. He thus made a Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov comparison.
When Oscar Willis from ‘The Mac Life’ asked the fighter about Jorge Masvidal wanting to fight him, Khamzat Chimaev said, “No, I didn’t see that, actually. But I don’t think so he wants to fight.”

“But now everyone understands when I beat a guy, like money fight is me, only me. Like… everyone was like running from me because I’m bad fight for everyone. Now they know, it’s like money fight is me.”
“Now, like Conor is away, he’s doing some movie sh*t and Khabib is out. And Israel don’t make good fights, you know. Nobody want to see that bad fight. Now only me make a real fight,” he added.
Khamzat Chimaev has had only five outings in the UFC. Nevertheless, he has emerged dominant in all five bouts. But it was the Burns fight where many people felt the welterweight didn’t look quite as good. In fact, it was a close contest, and it was the first time Chimaev won through a decision.

Hence, it will be interesting to see how ‘Borz’ performs against Nate Diaz. After all, ‘The Stockton Slugger’ is difficult to put away.

Rising fighters Paddy Pimblett and Khamzat Chimaev are two names with a lot of potential in the famous promotion. Both the martial artists have created tons of hype around their fights and delivered too.
In an interview with ‘GQ’, UFC President Dana White was asked which fighter in the UFC could have a similar impact as Conor McGregor. White was of the opinion that Chimaev could be the one.
However, both Pimblett and Chimaev have a long way to go. It would be interesting to see what they achieve in the sport. What do you think?
