Conor McGregor is easily one of the most polarizing figures in combat sports. The charismatic Irishman is known for talking trash to his opponents and playing mind games with them. However, he has also received harsh criticism for crossing the lines with his trash talk and going after fighters’ religion, country, and family. While many discount McGregor’s behaviors as that of a brilliant showman playing heel, former UFC champion Matt Serra begs to differ.

The UFC Hall of Famer recently went after McGregor and cut him no slack for his shenanigans. He also took a dig at UFC veteran Chael Sonnen for defending McGregor’s actions by calling it the gimmicks of his character.

It was at this moment that Serra launched into a passionate rant, taking shots at Conor McGregor for some of his words and past transgressions.

Matt Serra’s rant on Conor McGregor

Talking to Muhammad and Morton, Serra said, “I hate when guys are like, “You know, this is a character. He plays a character but he’s really a nice guy.” But is he? Or is he really a tw*t? Because why would you act like this?….”

He continued, “He talks about this one’s kids, he talks about this one as a father. he gets so low and then you might meet him and he’ll be really pleasant and you’ll be like ‘Oh well he’s really a nice guy.’ But he’s still a piece of sh*t...”

Speaking of McGregor and Sonnen, ‘The Terror’ said, “Like Chael Sonnen with Conor McGregor… People see Conor McGregor in the cage and he’s like your wife’s in my DM’s. [Chael] goes, ‘He had his legs in half. Is he a bad person or is he staying in character?’ No, Chael he’s not staying in character. He’s being a f***ing dirtbag.”

The 48-year-old concluded, “Was he in character when he hit that f***ing guy in the nightclub or punched the old man on the stool, the girls jumping over in the f***ing Pacific. Oh wow, this guy should be… he’s the next Daniel-Day Lewis.”

Suffice it to say, Serra has no love lost for Conor McGregor. Knowing McGregor, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a fiery response from the Irishman.
