Henri Hooft was born and raised in The Hague, Netherlands. From a very young age, Hooft was an athletic kid and was initially fond of soccer in his growing years. Things took a turn at the age of 15 when he gave up the ball and started training in mixed martial arts. He started training with his brother in full-contact Karate but later went on to find his passion for kickboxing. In just a short period of time his passion combined with natural ability and he began competing after just 3 months of training.

Hooft was winning competitions at every level and caught the attention of many during that time. One such person was fellow Dutchman, Rob Kaman, who at the time was considered by many to be the greatest kickboxer in the world. When Hooft turned 18, he was invited by Rob to move to Thailand to train and help elevate his game to the next level. It was here that he discovered Thai Boxing. After going to Thailand he created a unique system that involved Thai boxing and Dutch kickboxing. During his fighting days, he competed in more than 89 professional kickboxing fights, 11 boxing matches, and earned both World and European Titles.

The 55-year-old has now earned the reputation of being one of the finest coaches. Hooft went on to become the head stand-up coach of The Blackzilians, a team of professional mixed martial artists.
