Is Khamzat Chimaev's aggressive behavior justified, or is he just a loose cannon waiting to explode?

Remember last year’s heated feud between Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev? The two fighters were originally slated to clash at UFC’s much-anticipated Abu Dhabi fight card, but the matchup never came to fruition. In the lead-up, however, Costa didn’t miss a chance to taunt Chimaev. Known for his provocative antics, ‘Borrachinha’ even went as far as to disrespect Chimaev by stuffing his hat down his shorts after it was left behind on Henry Cejudo’s popular show, *The Triple C and Schmo Show.*

This stunt didn’t just rile up Chimaev—it infuriated him. ‘Borz’ was left fuming, not only at Costa but also at Cejudo, whom he suspected might have had a hand in the incident. The tension was palpable, with Chimaev feeling betrayed and disrespected.

Fast forward to now, and Henry Cejudo is trying to clear the air and make amends with Chimaev. In a recent interview, he attempted to set the record straight, distancing himself from Costa’s actions and expressing a desire to bury the hatchet with ‘Borz’. As Cejudo seeks to move beyond this bizarre episode, only time will tell if Chimaev is willing to forgive and forget.

Henry Cejudo reveals the real reason behind Khamzaty Chimaev’s hatred

Costa’s disrespectful act damaged the friendship between Henry Cejudo and Khamzat Chimaev. In a recent interview with the MMA Oritend channel “Home of Fight,” Cejudo addressed the issue and apologized to Chimaev. He explained, “I really will, because now I understand why. Me and the Schmo, at the time, were partners, and we had Khamzat on the show. Khamzat happened to leave his hat in the studio, and then we were going to have Paulo Costa, ‘The Eraser,’ on the next day.”

Cejudo added that the idea to involve ‘Borrachinha’ with the hat came from The Schmo: “That was the Schmo’s idea, like, ‘Hey man, let’s tell Paulo.’ It wasn’t even my idea. I’m going to throw all that on the Schmo, throw him under the bus. But it was hilarious because, at the end of the say, Paulo grabbed the hat and rubbed it through his n-t sack.” Cejudo admitted he found it funny, but it resulted in Chimaev’s anger.
