In a shocking turn of events, former UFC double champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo revealed that he has been getting death threats for helping train Deiveson Figueiredo against Brandon Moreno for their trilogy fight at UFC 270.
Cejudo’s parents are Mexican immigrants and he himself proudly calls himself a Mexican as well. On the flip side, ‘Daico’ is a Brazilian who joined Cejudo’s camp after losing his flyweight strap to Brandon Moreno at UFC 263. However, ‘Daico’ was able to subdue the first Mexican-born UFC champion in 2022 at UFC 270.

In a conversation with UFC legend Daniel Cormier, ‘The Messenger’ comes clean on why he helped ‘Daico’.
“No, not really DC. Do you know why, dude? Cuz my loyalty is to my friends, man. Like I don’t put whether you’re black, Mexican, black, purple, blue like to me, it’s loyalty to the person. It’s loyalty to the dream of that person has to that wants to accomplish,” Cejudo told ‘DC’.
And when he approached me, he wants to come and chat with me. He’s like ‘Hey bro, I will do whatever I can’. When somebody says they really have your back. Bro, I got your back. Even if it means my Mexican people are going to turn their back on me. Because in reality, man, that’s not the way. We know we should all be one.

“To me, it’s all about winning. To me, whatever it is that I can convey to that person so that they become the best in the world, I will do. Even it means getting death threats. Freaking calling me brown on the inside whatever on the outside. It’s all good in the hood, man,” Cejudo continued.
What happened between Henry Cejudo and Brandon Moreno?
Brandon Moreno was one of the prospects at the Ultimate Fighter season 24, where Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez were coaches of the opposite teams. ‘The Assassin Baby’ was part of the Cejudo camp.
Interestingly, Moreno and Cejudo knew each other since 2014 and were pretty close as they used to even live together. However, everything changed amidst TUF season 24.
