Cejudo made a statement, suggesting that Aspinall shouldn’t celebrate his victory until he faces Jon Jones, who holds the true championship. Cormier expressed his opinion in a recent video, and Cejudo responded with a fitting reply. These two former fighters are currently engaged in a heated exchange and amidst this tussle, Sean O’Malley has called out Cejudo. Let us dive deep into understanding the triad tussle.

Henry Cejudo’s statement regarding Tom Aspinall’s early celebration irked Daniel Cormier and he made a counter statement claiming that Cejudo is 1000% wrong on his analogy about Aspinall. Cormier further added that Cejudo was groomer to be an Olympic wrestler and not a UFC champion.

Cormier’s counter-statement was taken by Cejudo in a bad light. The former dual weight champion took to X (Formerly Twitter) to add a statement for Cormier. “So DC man, you’re tearing on your Olympic teammate. You turned against the greatest combat athlete of all time. But you know what DC? I love it. If I was to win an Olympic silver medal, do you think you would see me running and running? Do you think you would see my crying? You think that I would have wanted to pick up that American flag and represent all of us?” stated Cejudo.

He further added “An interim belt just means you are the number one contender. For all you soft people that don’t like that, including Tom Aspinall. Because yeah, I will say this, it was too much. Save those tears. Save those tears for if you can beat a guy like Jon Jones.”

Interestingly, in their two-way tussle, the current bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, barged in with a playful tweet on Cejudo’s Twitter video. The fighter took a jibe at Cejudo and tweeted ” Your face looks so chubby lolz”. so, what was Cormier’s statement that irked Cejudo so much?

‘DC’ uploaded a video on his YouTube channel where he claimed that Henry Cejudo’s assessment of Tom Aspinall is completely wrong and that he should look into his statement before speaking. The former dual weight champion said “Henry Cejudo. Man, I like the guy. I do. But this dude has never been more wrong. Henry said, ‘Tom Aspinall shouldn’t have been as emotional to become the champion. It’s not the real belt’. It’s not fair. Henry Cejudo became the UFC champion because he’s a tremendous athlete and he is just a winner. Just a winner. “

He further added “But Henry Cejudo was not groomed to be UFC champion. Henry Cejudo was groomed to be the Olympic wrestling champion, and he did that. And when he did that, he cried. He was excited and he was the champ and it felt like he had accomplished the world. That’s what Tom Aspinall did. Interim or not, they’re wrapping 12 pounds of gold around his belt.”
