After ending his three-year sabbatical from the UFC, Jon Jones returned with a bang, winning the UFC heavyweight title in a matter of minutes. The talented fighter proved he could win in a second-weight class, solidifying his place in history as a two-division champion. With his dominant victory over Ciryl Gane, Jones showed why he’s often called the greatest of all time, dismantling his opponent with ease and finishing the fight with a guillotine choke just over two minutes into the first round. This ended the debate that Jones is indeed the MMA GOAT and cemented the fact forever.
The victory was impressive and cemented his legacy as a two-division champion, but it was what happened after the fight that truly showcased his character. Right after the fight, ‘Jonny Bones’ faced an unexpected challenge from Zion Clark and fell short.

Despite just winning the heavyweight belt, Jones was unable to beat Clark in the push-up contest, demonstrating that even the greatest of all time can be humbled.
However, Jon Jones did more than just win the belt that night; he also won many people’s hearts by carrying out a solitary act of kindness.
Giving back to the community
After a stunning performance at UFC 285 against Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones earned a massive fight purse which included a performance bonus of $50,000. However, instead of keeping the money to himself, he pledged to donate it to community service in Albuquerque, New Mexico, his hometown.
