“Heart of Diamond”- Dustin Poirier’s Donation to Themba Gorimbo for Medical Security in Zimbabwe Leaves MMA Community Amazed

Themba Gorimbo is one of the most significant rising stars in the UFC. However, perhaps he has become more known for his important contributions to his community and his fighting spirit than his fights. It only makes sense because Gorimbo has had about two fights in the UFC so far. However, his initiatives with his village are much more famous and receive a lot of support.

First, it was ‘The Rock‘, then it was ‘Chito’ Vera, and now, ‘The Diamond‘ has joined the list of his supporters. Dustin Poirier is one of the most electrifying fighters inside the cage, but outside, he’s just as soft. Here’s what he recently did to help Gorimbo’s efforts.

Themba Gorimbo has fought two fights and won one in the UFC so far. However, the fighter has managed to win millions of hearts outside of the cage. His story went viral when it garnered attention from none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Gorimbo had come from a small village in Zimbabwe and was living in his gym sleeping on a couch. ‘The Rock’ gifted the athlete with his own home in the U.S. to keep him going. Gorimbo also sold his fight-kit to pool money for his village. Now, he’s taken to Instagram to thank Dustin Poirier for helping with a new initiative.

“@DustinPoirier thank you for the donation of a $10 000 to the new initiative i am starting in village in Zimbabwe of fixing cataract for old people in my village.It’s going to change a lot of people’s lives.Imagine you can’t see one time and next thing you see clear.”

This was the caption of his post. Clearly, preparing for his next fight at UFC Fight Night on February 3rd, 2024, hasn’t stopped him from keeping up his efforts. His village in Zimbabwe thrives more and more with his efforts in place. And fans can’t help but appreciate Poirier’s help. Here are some reactions.
