UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier spoke to Patrick Bet-David from Valuetainment and revealed the hardest puncher he’s ever faced. Poirier has 35 professional fights under his belt and he’s faced high-level competition exclusively since 2010. ‘The Diamond’ has competed at WEC and is a staple contender in the UFC, thus he’s had no shortage of facing heavy hitters in his career.
The Louisiana native revealed that none other than ‘The Notorious’, Conor McGregor was the hardest puncher he’s ever faced. Poirier has fought McGregor on three different occasions and was cleanly knocked out in their first meeting. Moreover, despite winning their second fight via TKO, Dustin Poirier was hurt badly on the feet when he fought McGregor.
“Conor McGregor [packs the heaviest punch], no doubt about it. As the biggest puncher I’ve fought? Yeah, he’s a special individual for sure.”

Additionally, he’s the only fight alongside Jared Cannonier to hold KO/TKO’s in three different weight classes in the modern era. His contest at welterweight against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone proved that he’s still a dangerous customer at a higher weight. In the lightweight and featherweight division in particular, McGregor has run amok and handed down beat down to some of the best names in the sport.
Fans will be keen to see how Conor McGregor bounces back from the two straight losses he’s suffered. He’s been crippled with a devastating leg injury and it’s up in the air if he’ll compete any time soon. However, McGregor has pledged to make an emphatic return and scale the championship mountain once more in the talent stacked lightweight division.
