Rivalries in the UFC are often forged in the Octagon, but some spill over into unexpected corners of the fight world. The latest chapter in the saga between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill unfolded at the UFC Performance Institute, where the tension between the light heavyweight stars nearly erupted into an unsanctioned brawl!

Their unfinished business set the stage for a heated exchange that went viral, capturing the imaginations of fans worldwide. The viral video of Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill’s latest encounter tells a tale of restraint laced with fury. According to Hill’s side of the story, he was fresh from a workout and approached Pereira to hash things out face-to-face rather than trading words on X.

But when Pereira brought his translator into the mix, things took a sharp turn. According to ‘Sweet Dreams’ on an episode of the ‘War Council’ show on his YouTube channel, “And in the exchange, he said something to his translator, and his translator said ‘He said you’re still sleeping, woke up and s***!’. I’m wide awake now! You can get put to sleep for real!”

In the aftermath, Alex Pereira was asked to share his side of what happened in an interview with MMA Junkie. ‘Poatan’ bluntly stated, “Well things happened first…I’m focused on myself, focused on my thing. Right now he should be worried about his next fight, he has a tough fight with Jiri.”

What’s your perspective on:

Will Pereira and Hill's rivalry explode outside the Octagon before they meet again officially?

Have an interesting take?

The confrontation seemingly hit a boiling point when the Brazilian allegedly suggested taking it to the cage. Hill’s retort? “What the f— we need gloves for? We’re not getting paid right now.” He framed his restraint as a business decision, emphasizing that any fight with Pereira should come with a hefty paycheck and brawls usually aren’t a good idea for future opportunities in the UFC.

The heated exchange has only added fuel to their already smoldering rivalry. But as Alex Pereira pointed out, Hill has to first take on the challenge of Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311 in 2025 and the two have already gotten into it over remarks made on social media!

Hill and Prochazka trade barbs over their last performances against Pereira

Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill, two former light heavyweight champions, are bringing the heat ahead of their UFC 311 bout. Their recent verbal jabs have set the stage for a clash that feels more personal than professional. Prochazka, known for his zen-like calm, broke character recently. The catalyst? Hill’s comments about ‘BJP’s performance at UFC 295.

In a pointed jab on X, Prochazka fired off by stating, “I’m really looking forward for my next fight. Jamahal, don’t speak about my performances, fight IQ and all these things because in your last fight you didn’t show nothing, really.”

Hill, never one to back down, took to YouTube to escalate the war of words. His response was a mix of bravado and mockery, aimed at Procházka’s recent loss against their common rival, Alex Pereira. ‘Sweet Dreams’ stated, “I got caught, you got dominated, there’s a huge difference, you feel what I’m saying? My man’s (Pereira) literally had your ponytail leaning to the left.”

Each fell to Pereira in their last outing, with Procházka suffering a devastating KO and Hill “getting caught,” as he put it. While Alex Pereira’s rivalry with Jamahal Hill continues to simmer in the background, one thing is clear: UFC 311 won’t just crown a victor—it will redefine the path to glory. Both fighters bring their own scars into the Octagon, etched by Pereira’s fists. So will Jiri Procházka’s zen-like discipline outlast Hill’s brash confidence? Or will we finally see ‘Sweet Dreams’ make his way to ‘Poatan’ once more? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
