Sean O’Malley is one of the brightest prospects in the UFC. ‘Sugar’ has had an impressive start to his MMA and UFC career. The bantamweight fighter has an MMA record of 13-1 and has just lost 1 fight in his UFC career. Now the fighter is all set to face Louis Smolka at the UFC 264 event.
The 1 loss that O’Malley has in his career is against Marlon Vera. ‘Sugar’ lost his UFC 252 to ‘Chito’ as he got TKO’d in the first round of the fight. Ever since that fight, O’Malley has always said that Vera’s victory against him was just a fluke.
Recently Marlon Vera took on Davey Grant at the UFC Vegas 29 event and won the fight via a unanimous decision. Unsurprisingly ‘Sugar’ had his thoughts on the fight and on Vera. During a recent interview, ‘Sugar’ said, “What I took from that fight is f**k, Davey Grant’s a tough motherf***r, dude, That is Chito’s style, just gets beat up for a little bit, and then people get tired of beating him up, and then he comes on in the later rounds.”

“But, yeah, I took an edible, so I was really high but I was trying to fast forward like is this in slow motion? He looked so slow. Who does he have next? He called out Dominick, will he get that, no? Dom already said he’s trying to fight up.”
Vera’s victory did not impress ‘Sugar’ as he talked about how he felt ‘Chito’ was very slow. Given the history between the two fighters, one can expect this sort of reaction from O’Malley.
What next for Sean O’Malley?
After his loss to Marlon Vera, ‘Sugar’ faced Thomas Almeida at the UFC 260 event next and won that fight via a third round KO. Now Sean O’Malley is all set to face Louis Smolka in his next fight.
