A few months ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov seemingly stupefied the world with his weight gain. Following his retirement from the position of an MMA coach and training the lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, the former UFC champion faced a lot of heat from the UFC community due to his weight gain.

However, a fighter can’t stay away from his calling for long. ‘The Eagle’ has announced his return to the world of martial arts as a coach. Without a doubt, with the intensive training regime, Nurmagomedov lost all the extra pounds that he gained a few months back. Recently, Daniel Cormier had a chat with Makhachev on ‘Daniel Cormier TV’. Therein, the commentator pointed out how lean the former champion looked. He commended his friend for losing weight and looking leaner than the last time he saw him.

Cormier and Team Khabib have had a close relationship. The two have sparred and trained together quite a few times at the American Kickboxing Academy. However, the Dagestani warrior had to face a boatload of backlash from fighters and fans alike for his weight. Soon after, Nurmagomedov apparently returned to the mat as a coach. Team Khabib has been training for a grappling event at AKA.

Cormier was quick to notice the change in Nurmagomedov’s ‘heavyweight’ body. During his recent conversation with Makhachev, the former UFC heavyweight champion revealed his amazement at his friend’s fitness. He was truly amazed at the significant amount of weight Nurmagomedov lost.

DC said, “You know, so all the boys are back at AKA. Khabib is back. Khabib is looking skinny, bro. Khabib lost some real weight, like since I seen him last time. Khabib looks real skinny. He looked real thin. He’s training hard.”
