While the UFC boss admitted to being at fault and apologized to his wife, his image has, in fact, gone down a bit, for some of the UFC fans. Power Slap, which was scheduled to be aired on TBS, has been delayed till the 18th of January. Furthermore, many fans believe that the reason for Power Slap getting removed from TBS was a consequence of the altercation.
Fans react to rumors of Power Slap being removed from the schedule
The physical altercation indeed came with White’s downfall. Recently, Dave Meltzer, from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, tweeted some news about the schedule for Power Slap. He wrote, “Power Slap was removed from the TBS schedule on the 11th and 18th. That’s as far as the schedule goes.” Doubtlessly, the tweet found its way to Reddit and fans opened up in the comments section.
Many fans believed that the physical altercation was the reason for the delay of the Power Slap League. Therefore, some fans stood up for White. But many others turned the incident into a pun. Most of the MMA fans dissed the UFC president for the unfortunate turn of events.
Here is what fans had to say:
- He literally slapped slap league to death
- Slap back to reality
- I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Dana’s reputation on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Power Slap glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
- Should have named it White’s Power Slap for that Dana White Privilege to kick in.
- Dana is the first and last power slap champion
- Dana gonna start “kick the crotch” league next . This was definitely the stupidest modern sport ever invented.
- I was perplexed the first time that I saw it advertised. It seems like something that I would watch for five minutes on YouTube and then forget about.
- Dana’s bout was ruled a no contest due to Dana’s slapping his opponent multiple times in a row. Clearly a rule violation.
Molly Qerim stood in support of Dana White

Qerim reasoned that the altercation happened under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol indeed brings out the worst in many people. Furthermore, she declared that it was not wise to judge someone on the basis of their worst moments. Nonetheless, she let the world know that White has got some friends backing him up.
