Deiveson Figueiredo fought to a draw against Brandon Moreno at UFC 256. ‘The Assassin Baby’ earned plaudits for his exceptional performance in the last pay-per-view of 2020, as he was in one of the best title fights in the history of the UFC flyweight division. The UFC has guaranteed him an immediate rematch against Figueiredo.
But, any official date for that rematch is yet to be announced. Figueiredo competed 4 times last year but has slowed down a little on his pace this term. ‘Deus da Guerra’ wants to fight Henry Cejudo too, as he believes it can be a huge addition to his legacy. However, Moreno deserves his shot first.

Moreno expects the UFC to not take Figueiredo’s bait to fight ‘The Messenger’, as he thinks that is only beneficial for the champion from a financial perspective.
Speaking to MMA Junkie recently, Moreno said, “I’ve been in the gym since the fight, training extremely hard, In my conversations with my manager, Jason House, I told him that I’m ready for April, and he’s pushing the UFC hard. But apparently, Figueiredo thinks a little differently than us. When he was cornering his brother, he looked a little chubby, so I don’t really know if April would work.”
“I’ve discovered the great secret of ‘Figgy,’ He just tries to intimidate you and get you off your game – make you beat yourself. Once you cross that off the wall, you can see he’s just a human like you and me. I’m proud of my performance in our first fight, and I know I’m going to be twice the fighter I am when I’m back in the Octagon,” added ‘The Assassin Baby’.
