UFC 301 is just around the corner and Aldo is all set to return to the octagon to fight against Jonathan Martinez. The 37-year-old who started his career at 16, is coming up on a one-fight losing streak and he is in no mood to hang his gloves just yet. Jose Aldo might be the Hall of Famer, but he still has a lot to accomplish and seems to be fired up for that. Ahead of his bout with Martinez, the UFC 301 roundup saw Joe Rogan showering ‘Scarface’ with the biggest compliments.
The booming voice of the color commentator said, “When it comes to skill, he is unequal. When we think about Aldo, we think about all those years of dominance in featherweight. He was a monster! He was a destroyer! The greatest featherweight in the history of the sport Jose Aldo Jr.”
His power and consistency are rarely seen on the MMA stage and the UFC 301 roundup introduction for the fighter was probably the most fitting announcement. Every commentator agreed that he was the legend of MMA. He not only competed in featherweight but also in the bantamweight division at UFc 245. Ahead of his bout with Martinez, let’s see what the legend’s fighting style is like.

Jose Aldo’s style of martial arts that makes him unbeatable
‘Scarface’ has a record that speaks for itself and even when he is 37, he still has the same fire in him. The 31-8-0 fighter has won 5 out of his last 9 fights and has 17 KO wins out of his 31-fight victories. Brazil is known to be the seat of MMA but one of the biggest contributors to this stature for the country was Aldo.
When it comes to his fighting style, one word is proper to define it and that is versatile. He is firstly a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under André Pederneiras. Along with that, ‘Junior’ is a black belt in luta livre esportiva under Marco Ruas. He also is a pioneer in leg kicks and used that technique at the start of his career. ‘Scarface’ even inspired other Brazilian fighters to start using more leg kicks to defeat their opponents. He not only attacked with the leg kicks but defended as well and later on the technique was termed as ‘The art of Brazilian Low kicks’ by the MMA community.

Along with that he also specialises in Muay Thai and Boxing to get his opponents down. His KO victory against Swanson at WEC 41 in 2009 is still considered to be one of the greatest KOs of the promotion’s history because of the 8-second mark of the knockdown. Aldo’s accomplishments just keep on piling up and the 16-year-old boy who ran away from home to pursue his dreams is now a legend at 37.
What is left to see is if he will uphold his legacy and dominance now. The answer will be revealed on May 4.
