Khamzat Chimaev has been making headlines recently with his callouts and outlandish comments. On one side, ‘Borz’ is angling for a middleweight showdown with Robert Whittaker. On another, a welterweight match-up against Colby Covington is also on his shortlist. Regardless of his willingness to fight top contenders across divisions, Chimaev is still not booked for a fight.
However, thanks to some of his bold comments, he has now got the attention of another top contender from a different weight class.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka recently had a few words to say about Chimaev. A clip that made rounds on the internet showed the latter speaking about Prochazka in a manner that was not too friendly. Now, ‘Denisa’ has returned fire with a few statements of his own.

Jiri Prochazka’s response to Khamzat Chimaev
In a clip that surfaced on Reddit, we can hear ‘The Czech Samurai’ address Chimaev’s recent comments about his heritage. Needless to say, the 30-year-old was not too impressed with the welterweight contender’s claims about his heritage.
In the short clip, Prochazka seems to be answering a fan who asked him about Chimaev’s comments. He said, “I have just seen Chimaev’s comments. He is such a loudmouth. I will gladly fight him and defeat him.”
He continued, “Look, he is just a boy that talks too much and doesn’t quite understand the consequences of his words. I will talk to him when we meet next time.”
Fans could witness the beginning of a new rivalry between Prochazka and Chimaev. Although they fight in different weight classes, the 28-year-old claimed that he had indeed beaten Prochazka in sparring once. In fact, it was this comment that prompted the reaction from the former champion.
What exactly did Chimaev say about Prochazka?
In an interview that surfaced on the internet recently, Khamzat Chimaev talked about sparring with Prochazka back in 2019. He also took shots at the Czech fighter for forgetting his roots.

The 28-year-old recalled the sparring and said Prochazka was better than him in the standing department. However, he accused ‘Denisa’ of claiming he won the session and asserted that it never happened. He also called him stupid for adapting ‘Chinese movements’ and leaving behind his Czech heritage.
It appears that Prochazka did not take these comments lightly and now has a bone to pick with Chimaev. Do you wish to see the pair fight in the octagon? Who do you think would win a fight between Chimaev and Prochazka?
