‘The Eagle’ recently appeared in an interview with Patrick Bet-David. Here, the UFC legend discussed many aspects of his personal and professional life. However, one of the most intriguing segments came when Nurmagomedov discussed plans for his sons.

Talking about his sons’ future, Nurmagomedov expressed that he didn’t harbor an overwhelming desire to groom them into champions. Rather, he opted for a more hands-off stance, allowing them the autonomy to choose their own paths. “I am not hungry to make my kids become world champions. But I don’t know what my son gonna choose”, the former UFC champ said.

The cornerstone of his approach lay in respecting their individual choices. Moreover, Nurmagomedov emphasized that he would fully support his sons if they wanted to become professional fighters. “But if he say ‘I wanna be like you, I wanna be world champion’. Okay! This is your choice. If you want, I am just gonna help you, but I am never gonna push him to become a professional athlete,” he added.

Nonetheless, he underscored one rule that his sons will have to follow – combat training. For ‘The Eagle’, training is apparently non-negotiable, as a core aspect of their growth into men. “But he have no choice about one thing. He is a man and he is gonna train,” he said.

Not everyone will agree with Nurmagomedov’s views on combat training being essential for men. However, the undefeated MMA fighter has never hesitated in expressing his conservative views, even if it means offending some people.

If a 2018 interview, the former UFC champ was asked about his views on women’s MMA. To everyone’s shock, Nurmagomedov came in with a bold answer. “For females, I have very good advice, be fighters at home. And one more advice, all the time, finish your husband,” he said.
