Joe Rogan is a UFC commentator but frequently delves into social commentary on his renowned podcast. The 55-year-old has some ideas to help our current climate crisis. Major carbon-emitting nations, including the US and China, focus on implementing a ‘net-zero’ policy to reduce carbon emissions on our planet. The only problem is, they must invest a lot of money to reach the ultimate goal.

The famous podcaster had the naïve idea of sending the bill over to wealthy philanthropists, such as Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates.

Joe Rogan thought Bill Gates would be the answer

Danish author and climate change activist, Bjorn Lomborg joined the fear factor host, in episode #1896 of JRE. The author tried to explain the massive expense the government was taking to reach a ‘net-zero’ target by 2050. However, the stand-up comedian believed that the richest people who could accommodate a portion of their wealth into philanthropic activities could help the government.

Lomborg stated with statistical data “So the cost of reducing emissions by 80%.. this is per person, per year in the US…” Joe Rogan was shocked to read “11,000 bucks?” and the actual number is estimated to be 12% of the U.S GDP.

The president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center clarified that number, to be an overall estimate for Net-zero “Well that’s that’s almost the entire Net Zero…” But clarified to achieve at least 80% of the “Biden promise”, the cost would be “more than $5,000 per person- per year”

The host offered a solution to the money problem and suggested the government take the aid of $114 billion worth, Bill Gates. “Just get Bill Gates to pay for it…!” said Rogan.

The author explained, “But the fundamental point is, people are just not going to be willing to pay that amount of money.” Joe Rogan built on this point and stated how the government “can come up with so much money to send arms to Ukraine and to invade other countries.”

“We would think they can fork out $11,000 per person… “per year…”
