Recently, Dariush starred in an interview, where he spoke about the upcoming battle at the BMF championship. Dariush can secure a title shot when he squares off with Charles Oliveira in the UFC 289 co-main event on June 10.

Beneil Dariush ‘leans toward’ teammate Justin Gaethje; but knows Poirier is the threat
In an interview with Sporting News, Dariush shared his excitement for his upcoming battle against Oliveira. When asked about his thoughts on the BMF fight, he voiced his lenience towards his teammate Justin, declaring,
Interviewer: How do you think that fight plays out?
Dariush: I am leaning toward Justin Gaethje…
The lightweight showered compliments on Justin for his ‘fine-tuning’ of his overall ability. Further, he added, “I think he’s made a lot of improvements in terms of his feints, his change of direction, and you know… just overall ability.”
Despite these compliments, Darius was very much aware and open-minded to the practicality of UFC bouts – the bouts are unpredictable. He recognized the threat Dustin Poirier poses. He hailed Poirier as an exceedingly talented fighter who boasts strong MMA fundamentals.
Praising his unique talent, he said,

“Here’s what makes him super special – he gets better with every round and he gets better at his basics with every round.
So they get clear cleaner and cleaner and cleaner… I think that’s a very rare talent…”
He seemed to be a fan of Poirier’s mastery of the basics, as it becomes sharper and more refined. Dariush considers this ability to be a rare talent in the world of MMA.

While Dariush leans towards Gaethje, he recognizes Poirier’s unique ability to evolve his performance throughout a fight.
