Shortly afterward, the conversation takes an unexpected turn when the Notorious starts talking about Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Irishman reveals his desire to fulfill his UFC contract by having four more fights. When the other person asks him about a rematch with Nurmagomedov, McGregor responds with enthusiasm. “Ah, well yeah, f*cking right I want that. Yes of course”, says the former UFC champ.

Next, UFC’s first double champ goes into details about his UFC 229 clash with Nurmagomedov. “I stuffed over half of his takedowns. It was a small error that allowed him to get the back in the fourth round.”

When he infamously attacked the bus Nurmagomedov was in, Khabib did not step outside of it. This, according to the Irishman, was a victory in itself. Moreover, he acknowledges that he should have let the victory speak for itself, rather than giving Nurmagomedov a match at UFC 229.

“I don’t regret it. Learning curve. What I do regret, is taking the… Because I showed up to fight at the Barclay Center, at the bus, and he didn’t get off the bus. So the fight was won, it’s over. I should have left it at that. Instead, I gave him an opportunity to come back. They know. The other side knows. He can run but he cannot hide.”
