Former UFC title challenger Marvin Vettori returns to action this Saturday at UFC Vegas 75. The #3 ranked middleweight contender will take on #4 ranked Jared Cannonier in the main event inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A win over Cannonier would improve Vettori’s chances of getting a third shot at Israel Adesanya‘s middleweight title. The same can also be said of Cannonier who came up short against the champion in their last meeting.
Vettori is one of the most highly-rated middleweights in the world. Since losing to Adesanya, he has won two out of three fights. Out of his 4 losses in the UFC, three have been to champions or former champions. At 29 years of age, Vettori’s best years may still be ahead of him.
Hence, it is important for ‘The Italian Dream’ to make the most of the opportunities coming his way. In fact, if he makes the right changes to his game, we might even see an improved version, according to veteran Anthony Smith.

Anthony Smith gives his take on what to expect from Marvin Vettori
Smith was of the opinion that the best of Vettori is yet to come. The 34-year-old recommended that Vettori make the necessary changes to his game and he would become a force to be reckoned with.
Smith said, “Marvin Vettori is one of those guys who I feel like we haven’t seen his ceiling yet. I think if he just makes a few little adjustments, a few little changes in his game, he can start really chasing some finishes.”

He continued, “At a certain point, I think he was really honest with himself with that. In the [Robert] Whittaker matchup, some of the issues he had in that fight, some of the things that he had to go through.”
Smith added, “I know sometimes, people have written him off a little bit saying he’s one of the best guys in the world but he’s not elite. I think he makes a few adjustments and I think he can really elevate his game.”
