Jorge Masvidal suffered a brutal knockout loss against Kamaru Usman at UFC 261. It was a colossal blow for ‘Gamebred’ as his championship aspirations didn’t materialize because of that loss. Nevertheless, Masvidal has moved on from it and is looking to make his much-anticipated return to the UFC Octagon.
The fight that made Masvidal the superstar that he is today was his knockout win against Ben Askren. ‘Funky’, an undefeated fighter at that time, talked a lot of trash leading up to the fight. However, Masvidal stole all that hype and elevated his status as a UFC superstar in the process.

“Definitely not the greatest athlete, but one of the more stronger mental dudes. I mean just the fight with Robbie Lawler showed you how tough he was,” he added.

However, it only backfired for ‘Funky‘ as Masvidal came out with a perfect game plan. He stood with his hands behind his back. The moment the referee signaled that the duo could fight, ‘Gamebred’ went off the gate in a full sprint and landed a brutal flying knee on Askren.
The contest lasted only 5 seconds. With his victory, Masvidal managed to register the fastest knockout in UFC history to his name. ‘Gamebred‘ became a superstar like never before with that win. And for Askren, it only went downhill from there.
