UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is soon defending his title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. This is going to mark his return to the octagon after he injured his shoulder and had to take a hiatus. While everyone else thinks that Alex Pereira deserves the title of best pound-for-pound fighter, Dana White is not ready to move on from Jones. ‘Bones’ is undoubtedly one of the best heavyweight UFC fighters to ever step inside the octagon. He is an undisputed champion, and the only time that he was defeated was once due to a 12-6 elbow ban. Several fans and even veterans think of him as the G.O.A.T.
The UFC head honcho also thinks the same, irrespective of some fans disagreeing with him. He again made his stance very clear on social media recently by announcing that everyone on the Internet was stu**.

He has not moved on from his stance, even after the UFC 303 presser. When Kevin Iole asked him about a potential fight between Alex Pereira and ‘Bones’, the boss did not rule out the fight. However, he said that he wanted Pereira to fight a few more athletes and prove himself before matching him up with Jones. In a recent talk with Pat MacAfee, he said the same. White declared, “Everybody on the internet’s stupid. Anybody who thinks Jon Jones isn’t the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world should NEVER be discussing fighting EVER.”
Dana White has a message for the internet regarding the Jon Jones #1 pound-for-pound conversation:
"Everybody on the internet's stupid.
Anybody who thinks Jon Jones isn't the pound for pound best fighter in the world should NEVER be discussing fighting EVER."

Dana White has already somewhat secured a plan for his best Pound 4 Pound fighter. Jones is already 37 and had already insinuated that he would retire after his fight with Miocic, irrespective of the results. Now that Dana White has declared that Tom Aspinall is not ready to fight Jones yet, and the Pereira super fight is already ruled out. Jones can easily retire after this fight. Even after that, Renato Moicano said that he would like to see a fight between the duo, and he supports Aspinall because he thinks that ‘Bones’ is not in his prime anymore and would lose the fight.
Even though Dana White claimed his support for Jones, there were speculations that the boss felt Dominick Reyes deserved the win against Jones.

Jon Jones thinks it was AI and not Dana White
UFC 247 has seen the heavyweight champion take on Reyes for a five-round fight that ended on a controversial note. During a recent update, it was revealed that Dana White wanted Reyes to win the fight. According to a post shared on X by the MMA Frenzy, it was shown that “Jon Jones reacted to a resurfaced clip of Dana White saying that he believed Dominick Reyes deserved the win at the #UFC247 post-fight press conference, via Instagram.”
However, Jones did not believe it or believed it to be the work of AI. He insinuated that it was not said by White but was generated through artificial intelligence. The fight was a unanimous decision for Jones, but most media outlets—almost 14 out of 21—expected his opponent to be the winner. Even Jones admitted in the OverDogs podcast that Reyes was a dangerous contender and that he was at his limit during the fight. He even apparently thought that he had finally met his match.

All in all, at present, Tom Aspinall expects to be the next contender against Jones, but according to the heavyweight fighter, he might just wrap up his career. While speaking to a fan, Jones said, “Fun fact, after this year, Jon Jones will never have to work again, retired at age 37. Winning.”
Do you think that Jones is going to fight Aspinall? Do you also agree with Dana White about Jones being the G.O.A.T.?
