Underneath all the controversial statements and bold moves lies an inspirational story that has motivated many to deal with parental trauma. Ever since his rise to fame, ‘Tarzan’ has openly talked about the problems with his abusive father. While some have used his revelations against him, many fans around the world have showcased support for Sean Strickland in this inspiring journey.

The UFC champ once again addressed his struggles in detail, when he recently appeared on Theo Von’s ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast and honored his girlfriend for helping him cope with his personal life issues. When the host asked about his current situation, he mentioned how things have been better for him and said, “We have all been through some shit. Some people more than others”.

Moreover, the American MMA star also talked about his partner playing a big role in his recovery. “It is definitely better. I think having a girlfriend helps”. Further, ‘Tarzan’ revealed his problems while staying away from his girlfriend. “It’s like whenever she is gone…I will just be in my house, I’ll start looking at all the things I own. (I’ll be like) I don’t need this sh*t. I don’t do well alone,” he revealed.

The UFC middleweight champion’s love life has mostly stayed hidden from social media. Only back in September during the UFC 293 did ‘Tarzan’ reveal his girlfriend. Although her full name is still a secret, Strickland addressed her as ‘TJ’. Strickland even took the opportunity to express his love for his girlfriend and said, “I have a girlfriend who I love very much. She makes me a better man…I think about who I was before I met you… My girl she makes me a truly better man and baby, I thank you for that.” 

The UFC middleweight champion has kept his girlfriend a big mystery. Both are rumored to be together from at least October of 2022. Apart from this, we don’t have much information about his girlfriend.

All fans looking for an insight into the champ’s personal life had a treat listening to him but emotions got the better of Sean Strickland at one moment during the podcast.

Sean Strickland stopped believing in God?

While discussing his childhood problems, ‘Tarzan’ revealed how he almost lost faith in God. “I stopped believing in God when I was in elementary school. I remember laying in bed and crying wanting to kill myself. I remember I stopped believing in God. It’s crazy sh*t. How is there a god? Then why would I be in such a situation?” he revealed.

As things became more intense, Strickland had to pause for a minute before continuing the conversation. He also mentioned damaging his gums as a child due to anxiety issues. “When I was a kid, I used to scratch my gum. I have a hole in my gum. Just anxiety,” he said.
