Recently, the UFC website updated their female bantamweight rankings list. The list raised a lot of eyebrows after previously ranked Mayra Bueno Silva was nowhere to be seen in the top 15. This raised a lot of questions as to why the 32-year-old had been removed from the rankings. However, ‘Sheetara’ has revealed the reason for that issue. As per reports by ‘Women’s MMA Rankings’, Silva stated that the UFC removed her from the rankings list due to her ongoing suspension handed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Mayra Bueno Silva defeated Holly Holm at UFC Vegas 77. However, a pre-fight drug test revealed that she had her body consisted of ritalinic acid, a metabolite of methylphenidate. This is commonly used to treat ADHD. However, that is a banned substance and as such, Silva was suspended. Moreover, her win over Holm was also turned into a no-contest. ‘Sheetara’ revealed that the suspension will end on November 29 and then she’ll be back in the rankings. Furthermore, she also confirmed that her bantamweight title fight against Raquel Pennington at UFC 297 is still going to happen. Moreover, Silva also addressed rumors of being cut from the UFC.
