The Michael Chandler hype train is gathering speed, and fast. His fight with Conor McGregor is approaching and while it appears to be months away, is it even real? There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, but fans worry that it might just be another train rushing right at Chandler.
Conor McGregor has announced the fight. However, Dana White has not said much about it. Which is why some fans are still not entirely sold on the idea of the two fighting. The contract is still missing and there’s only talk. But there’s been talk before. Here’s the story in a nutshell.

It would appear that McGregor finally gave Michael Chandler the confirmation he had been waiting for. He will fight him on June 29th in the middleweight. McGregor announced the news on New Year’s Day, sipping red wine and looking and laughing like a James Bond villain.
However, for Chandler, it was much more serious. He immediately responded to it and declared that he was more than happy to fight ‘The Notorious’ at 185 pounds. He wants McGregor at his “biggest” and “baddest”. And it looks like he’s gotten what he’s asked for.
Before the announcement, we saw McGregor at a boxing event all sour about the UFC ghosting him for his return. Dana White noticed the videos and interviews and instantly got in touch with his favorite fighter. He mentioned to his fans in a live stream that he and McGregor were getting “something figured out soon”.

And it would appear that they have reached a valid conclusion with their talks. Now, does this mean a contract wil finally be signed? There is so far no announcement of one. However, Chandler is just getting riled up and has entered camp. What does this mean for him? And what does it mean for the fans?
Fans react to Chandler’s hype train
The UFC fandom loves the idea of this matchup. However, for many, it is too good to be true. Michael Chandler has been on the wait forever and Conor McGregor does all he does without really signing a contract. Here’s how fans reacted to Chandler’s most recent post.
“did you actually get the contract or are you doing what your told?”
While some asked Chandler about his authority, others reminded him of his prime.
“Bro you wasted 2 years of your prime waiting to fight him”
Yet others were embarrassed for him.
“Hahah Chandler your never getting that fight , stop bro I can’t handle this 2nd hand embarrassment any more”
Some fans couldn’t help but be unsure.
“Until ufc announces it I’m not gonna get hyped lmao”
“Has a contract been signed??”
Yet others called onto the involved authorities themselves to look for confirmation.

There is a lot of chaos around this one match. And it’s no surprise. Conor McGregor being his notorious self, always keeps people on their toes. Whether it’s the spectators, fans, or Dana White himself. Now, everyone can only hope that this announcement is the one true thing that Chandler’s been waiting for. If not, things are about to look way too happening for the lightweight star.
