Guram Kutateladze will return to the octagon to face Don Madge at the UFC event on July 17. Initially, they were scheduled to meet at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad on March 13 at the UFC Apex. Unfortunately, Kutateladze got a knee injury and withdrew to deal with the issue and successfully underwent the required surgery.

In the interim, the UFC did not re-book Madge, and now per bigalpodcast, this fight is back on. The two featherweight contenders will duke it out on the undercard of Miesha Tate vs Marion Reneau.

Kutateladze had a wonderful start in the UFC when he defeated former KSW two-division Mateusz Gamrot via split decision at UFC Fight Island 6. The victory took his undefeated streak to nine matches.

Meanwhile, Madge would have faced ‘The Georgian Viking’ in his first fight since September 2019. At UFC 242, he defeated Fares Ziam by unanimous decision to go 2-0 in the promotion.

The fight between Guram and Madge could be an absolute barn burner, as it will feature two athletes who are yet to taste an L in the world’s premier MMA organization. Moreover, their fight will receive attention considering the hype surrounding the card’s main event. The fighters will surely get the rub of competing on the undercard of the return bout of one of the pioneers of women’s MMA in the form of Miesha Tate.

Given the skill sets of both featherweight fighters, they could even hope for a main card booking as they will seek to secure a win and inch closer to securing a number next to their name in the stacked lightweight division.
