Jon Jones versus Stipe Miocic. Everyone wants this fight to happen. But remember how it was supposed to take place in 2023? Had ‘Bones’ not torn his pectoral muscle, the fight would have been done and dusted. Regardless, he stayed adamant that he wanted to fight Miocic and the latter shared the same intention.
Their fight was dubbed as the biggest fight in heavyweight history and guess what? Their UFC 295 clash did not get decided after a lengthy meeting. No. It was made in the most casual way, which even shocked Joe Rogan. Months after the cancellation of the fight, the MMA community now has access to what actually transpired behind the scenes.

Now, months after the event, the promotion seems to have thought that it would be better for them to release the backstage footage of the UFC 295 buildup. Are they joking? Well, it feels like it. Out of many videos, we got a crazy story of how the Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic fight actually materialized. In one of the videos, Jon Jones and Hunter Campbell were at an event. They were talking about Jones’s future matches.
Soon enough, ‘Bones’ asked Campbell to take the discussion outside. “Do you want to chat outside? Instead of having a formal meeting,” asked Jones. They rushed to the parking lot and had the conversation there. What’s the conclusion of the discussion, you ask?
It was Jones vs Miocic. Hunter Campbell creatively managed to clinch two of the biggest names in the promotion.“Biggest fight in the heavyweight history just got made in a car and a parking lot, go figure that one out,” said Campbell. No wonder Full Send MMA shared the video with the caption, “The biggest fight in Heavyweight history just got made in a parking lot.”
UFC’s successor, Campbell, seems to be managing it a bit too well. When he told Joe Rogan about what took place, he was just too stunned to speak! He couldn’t believe that Campbell pulled this off in a parking lot. And let us not forget that it’s quite difficult to deal with Jones as he has a history of tough negotiations.

Things might have been a little different if Jones had faced Miocic back in UFC 295. Instead, Tom Aspinall and S͏ergei Pavlovich had to ͏step in for the inte͏r͏͏im heavyw͏eight bel͏t and the British fighter won. Now, the entire heavyweight division is in the doldrum͏͏s.͏Why, you ask? We have two champions in the division who seem to be reluctant to fight.
But coming back to Hunter Campbell, his efforts were all in vain!

In another footage, it was seen that Jon Jones, Dana White, and Hunter Campbell were having a conversation and that’s when it was revealed that ‘Bones’ would have to wait for six months to one year due to his condition.
This news broke Jones, as he could not believe what was happening. “I got the results. You’re out six months to a year. You have to go have surgery,” said Campbell. ‘Bones’ was in utter disbelief as he was about to cry. “You’re lying. I don’t want to cry in front of you two,” Jones stated.
The UFC backstage moments were just recently released by the promotion as they shared what happens in the background and how fights are made. Nonetheless, Jon Jones has finally recovered from his injury and it’s just a matter of fact that he will be returning to face Stipe Miocic for their fight.

While the promotion had promised to arrange it in 2024, fans might have to wait a bit more. Dana White has stated that Jones vs Miocic will take place before Aspinall gets the chance to fight the champion.
