Dustin Poirier took to Instagram to share a cute clip of him and his daughter decorating their Christmas tree. The former champ is the proud father of his only daughter Parker Poirier, who is the source of a lot of his motivation and drive. In the video, the two are in the living room of their home in Louisiana. Parker, when she realizes is on camera, makes a pose and then embraces her dad.

The ‘Diamond’ amusingly captioned the video saying, “Damn… Got choked twice in one week.” Jovially referencing how he lost his title fight to Charles Oliveira earlier this week. Poirier is a family man through and through and seems to recover pretty well from his loss by spending quality time with his family.

Since losing the fight, Poirier appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani to share some insight into how he is dealing with the loss. When asked how his recovery is going both mentally and physically, Poirier has this to say, “Physically, I’m fine man. Emotionally, I’ve been better, but that’s life.”

The ‘Diamond’ has been through a lot of difficulties throughout his career. He has won a lot of fights but has lost his fair share of them too. That includes a title unification bout to Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, many people, including Poirier himself, believed that this might be his last chance at unified gold. So when asked if this loss hurts the most, he said, “It’s hard to say, man, they all suck, losing sucks, especially title fights. … Losing always sucks but maybe underperforming hurts worse than a loss.”

What’s next for Dustin Poirier

Dustin Poirier, in a recent interview, also talked about potentially moving up to welterweight following his loss to Oliveira. The former champ said, “I don’t know if I’m gonna make that cut again. I might never fight at 155 pounds again. I dont know what’s gonna happen. I don’t know the future.”

Poirier, who originally was a featherweight, has gained a lot of size in the past few years. He initially moved up to lightweight a few years ago because he was struggling to make 145. However, how it appears he has enough muscle on his frame to fight at welterweight and there are a lot of fights for him there. Potential fights for him included Leon Edwards, Colby Covington, who called him out and, of course, the champ Kamaru Usman. What do you think is next for the ‘Diamond’? let us know in the comments.
