While Colby Covington versus Jorge Masvidal happened in the octagon, it seems like they settled for the Miami streets in their latest brawl. Their tussle has jolted up the entire MMA community. Many important figures in the business have reacted to their scuffle and retired UFC star Daniel Cormier is one of them.

In a new episode of the DC & RC show on ESPN MMA, Cormier provided his thoughts on the Covington-Masvidal brawl. He even compared it to the Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor rivalry that happened back in the day.
Cormier said, “It does not seem as though this was a, gosh it’s so hard here not to assume. But it does not seem as though this was a come face-to-face and we get into a fight. It seems like something different. And that’s where it becomes a little bit off.”
“You’re right! … Jorge Masvidal is a fighter. He’s an absolute fighter, he’s an absolute dog. But I don’t know if it can seep into the streets like that. But we saw with Khabib and Conor, right? Khabib was not willing to let it go. It went too far for him to say at the end of the fight ‘we’re okay’. … And I feel like that’s what happened…”.

‘DC‘ also went on to say that there could be some serious consequences from their brawl.

While many thought their grudge fight at UFC 272 might solve their issues, it seems to be the exact opposite. Post their fight, the tense atmosphere has only gotten thicker. This explains their Miami brawl.
