Five–time ADCC World champion, Gordon Ryan, tore apart Conor McGregor’s friend, Dillon Danis during his recent appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’ show. Ariel Helwani is often a perpetrator of controversy on his show. Most recently, he sat down with Ryan and claimed that Danis needed to credit his stardom to Conor McGregor. Moreover, he also slammed Danis’s Jiu-jitsu record.

Ariel Helwani asked Ryan about the opinion of the Jiu-jitsu community about Danis. Danis was an exciting prospect but came to be known more for his conflicts outside the cage or mat.

Ryan started by claiming Danis was a master of staying relevant while being inactive as an athlete. Although he has not fought a competitive match recently yet, he is making a name for himself. More recently, he is set to face KSI in a boxing matchup.

Ryan continued to slam Danis, whom he called a “clown” by claiming that he was not self-built and was using his family’s money. He said, “His family must have money. Because he doesn’t do anything to actually generate revenue.”

Moreover, he also questioned what he did to stay relevant and earn. He said, “He doesn’t have sponsors if you look at his Instagram. He doesn’t teach, he doesn’t compete. Like I don’t know. I don’t know how he’s not homeless, first of all. He must have like an inheritance or something.

This certainly raises a few eyebrows at what is keeping him in the headlines. Gordon Ryan further said, once Danis got involved with the UFC two-division champion, Conor McGregor, his stardom was raised.

Ryan said “his [Danis] popularity skyrocketed” after his involvement with ‘The Notorious’, but the same couldn’t be said about his combat career.

Ryan mocks Danis’s Jiu-jitsu record

The Jiu-jitsu legend questioned the 29-year-olds record. He said that Danis’s Jujitsu record is 18 wins to 16 losses.

Moreover, he also explained how in his ADCC debut, he won against Dillon Danis. The fight was quite close and he got the victory via the judge’s decision. Thus, he was asking Danis for a rematch to beat him convincingly. However, a second fight wasn’t interesting Danis.
