UFC 302 will indeed witness former interim champion Dustin Poirier walk out to the global hit ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna. But wait! There’s a twist because Poirier has decided to walk out to a cover version of that song by American Idol 19 runner-up, Willie Spence. When fans got word about this announcement, they just couldn’t contain themselves as they flooded social media with their reactions.

Dustin Poirier didn’t just prepare to fight the seemingly unbeatable Dagestani phenom, Islam Makhachev. He also prepared to put on a great show for the fans, especially with his walkout song. Having mentioned that the decision to retire could pop up this weekend, ‘The Diamond’ has tried everything he can to make this fight special, and he already has his custom shorts.

Meanwhile, the former interim champion chatted with MMA reporters on media day when he was told about the song of the late Willie Spence, who tragically died in a car accident in 2022. Apparently, Dustin Poirier was fully aware of what’s happening on social media and he’s been getting tagged by Spence’s and UFC fans to walk out to his version of the Rihanna song.
